Insufficient Postage

When mailing thick letters I always weigh them to ensure I do not need extra postage, so imagine my surprise when a letter was returned to me for want of an extra thirty cents.

This situation must be owning to the sealing wax. My local post office has one particular clerk who inevitably insists that wax seals must be hand cancelled and paid for accordingly. I do not think he is to blame for this one because it took so long to be returned. The funny thing is, the intended recipient tells me her mail carrier, on more than one occasion, delivered mail with insufficient postage on the understanding that she would pay for it, which she did.

The treatment given to President Kennedy is unfortunate. On my second attempt I sent him traveling with Marilyn. If I find this letter in my box again I will be flabbergasted.
