Dear Lois,
You make amazing jam. I enjoyed every bite. It brought back memories of our last Christmas party.
Keep shining,
Mrs. Duffy
Today I wrote a short letter to a friend I haven't seen...well, since the shutdown and whom, due to my own altered circumstances, am unlikely to see anytime soon. I took my tea break this afternoon and in my search for jam found I had put an empty marmalade jar back in the fridge. Why would I set myself up for disappointment like that? Lois came to the rescue, however, and I was able to enjoy the last bit of apricot jam she gave me for Christmas a couple years ago. I thought she might enjoy a short note of thanks and compliments to her jam so, tea at the ready, I penned a note to her. It was spontaneous and gave me great pleasure. I hope the letter comes to her as an unexpected pleasure. I know it would to me.
Yours ever,
Mrs. Duffy
P.S. Don't worry, the jar was opened only recently.
